Overview:

Bring the family and have a picnic or just an afternoon stroll.  The Path of Life Sculpture Garden is fourteen acres of family fun in the Upper Valley.

In the Garden:

My son and I wandered around this summer.  The staff worker offered us umbrellas since a lot of the garden is in the sun, which was a thoughtful detail.  I took one but didn’t end up using it.  There are lots of trees you can sit under too if you feel the sun is overpowering.

The path is a mowed section of grass and starts on the right; it continues in a circle around the field.

 The Sculptures:

My favorite was the massive of a band.  I had never seen anything like it before.  It was striking.  If my son was awake I bet he would’ve been in awe.  I’m sure this is a visitor favorite.

As you continue along there’s a mini Easter Island type sculpture display of stone heads.  I enjoyed all the different facial expressions, especially the one that looked like an old man to me.

Test your Navigation Skills:

Right next to this was the maze of shrubbery.

I didn’t risk going in and having my little one need to eat because I took too long, but I did hear a family inside navigating the maze.

“Oh shoot. Wrong way again.  I think it’s this way.”

“Sarah?  Where are you?”

It sounded like a fun challenge.  It’s like a year round corn maze.  I love that something like this is so close by.  I’d recommend staying with your friends/family, unless that’s also part of the challenge, because this family was together and suddenly they lost each other in the maze.  It was all part of the fun for this family though.  I look forward to trying it next summer when my little one is older and we can get lost together.  I’ll make sure I have plenty of time too.

Want to stay awhile?  It’s a Group Venue too!

The Path of Life Sculpture Garden can accommodate parties, large gatherings, youth group events, and even weddings.  They can also set up your party while you float down the river if you want.  This sounds like a great idea for children and teens.  Below is a screenshot from their website.

Deluxe camping is also available where you only need to bring yourself, clothes, and food.  How easy is that?  See my post on the ultimate staycation for more info.

For a reasonable price this is an excellent outing for the whole family.  You can also pair it with the Great River Outfitters other services: paddling and kayak trips; morning yoga; camping; and night float trip then bonfire, smores, and snacks.

It’s Fun in the Winter Too!

I never knew such awesome experiences were so close by.  I think these would be a great Christmas present for someone or just a wonderful winter outing.

Hop on and enjoy dog sledding or a sleigh ride.  Even if there’s no snow Great River Outfitters improvises and uses ATVs with the dogs and carriages with the horses.  What a great idea!

You can even have an evening snow shoe hike with a guide and have a bonfire and snack when you return.  They’ll even provide equipment.  This sounds like a memorable experience for sure!

For your outdoorsy types in your life or people who love to learn, what about a 3-4 day winter survival course?  Great River Outfitters provides the equipment too.

A Place to Make Memories:

We’re so lucky to the Path of Life Sculpture Garden and Great River Outfitters to provide us with so many wonderful opportunities to make memories with those we love, regardless of the season.
