Who says you have to put away your biking dreams in the wintertime? Grab a fat-tire bike and head out into the snow.
Fat bikes are the new trend and a great way to explore the beauty of the outdoors!
You can rent a fat-tire bike at Omer and Bob’s in Lebanon, right off the green. The workers there are really friendly and knowledgeable. They offer the Hellga fat tire bike and a Trek Farley, which both get excellent reviews for riding on all terrain.
Sal, a worker at Omer and Bob’s, filled me in on the technical side; fat bikes have a wide tire that can run on low pressure and this allows them to sit on top of the snow and not dig into the ground. They also roll over obstacles well.
Experience the serene snowy trail. You can read my firsthand experience here.
Relax to the sound on nature as you leisurely ride and take in the views of Mascoma Lake or the rush of the Mascoma River.
The local rail trail awaits you. Try the Northern Rail Trail, which is a trail with beautiful views. You can access it by the CCBA in Lebanon, Ice House Rd. in Lebanon by the gas station, and Riverside Dr.
