What do you get when you have a baby who crawls away from photos, a toddler who just wants to play with trucks, and weather that definitely requires a winter jacket in October?
Excellent family photos of course.
My sons were more interesting in playing than taking photos. They didn’t want to take photos together either.
Yet we managed to get gorgeous photos in a short amount of time.
Teal Parker from Just the Right Light – Teal Parker Photography is AMAZING.
She’s Patient and Great with Kids
Crawling babies and engaged toddlers, no problem. She distracted, coaxed, and waited. Or just took the shot where they were. My boys aren’t used to new people and get quite shy, but they loved Teal. She just had a magic way of getting them to want to cooperate. I should ask her the secret now that they’re older…
She’s Flexible
We started with more formal poses but I could feel the forced smile. I asked for more candid and relaxed shots. No problem. I felt myself relax and just enjoy the crisp breeze, the sun’s rays, and holding my little one. My smile just naturally widened.
We even had the shoot scheduled for another day initially but it was cold and rainy; she suggested we reschedule. I’m so glad we did.
She Keeps the Shoots Short
Some may like longer shoots to get the most photos, but with two squirmy little ones, shorter was better. In a half hour or so, we got plenty of beautiful pictures.
She has a Great Eye and Expertise
I like how one reviewer said she ‘is amazing at capturing the spirit of our family.’ I couldn’t agree more. Combining her expertise for getting just the right light with her perfect perspective, creating stunning photos I love looking at each day.
I didn’t know a family photo could make you feel proud and blessed for what you have, but seeing the end result made me feel just that.
I highly recommend Teal for all your photography needs: family, newborn, expecting, engagement, senior photos, or just a beautiful photo for your wall. You’ll be glad you did.

What do you love about photography?
“Childhood is a fleeting moment in time and kids change at such a rapid rate – I love that photography gives me the opportunity to commemorate those moments before they pass. My goal with family photography is to capture photos that highlight the connection between family members in a relaxed and natural environment.”
What advice would you give people trying to find a photographer for family photos?
“There are many great photographers to choose from in the Upper Valley and each photographer has his or her own style and techniques. It’s important to find someone who’s style matches what you envision for your family’s photos.”
Anything else you want people to know about you or your business?
“In addition to lifestyle photography, I also create fine art photography for the home with a focus on macro images and those that exude a sense of serenity. Current work can be seen at Scout Hair Salon in WRJ, at my website, or by appointment. I [was also at] Art in the Park in Norwich,VT….”
