Want to do a tasting tour of New Hampshire?
New Hampshire Magazine conducted a Reader’s Poll in 2016 of the best in various food and drink categories.
Reading the categories made me want to take a quick road trip to try the best chicken tenders, cupcakes, soup, and sandwich in the state. I see many road trips in my future.
In Our Region
There were establishments in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region that were regional favorites. For burgers the Flying Goose Pub and Salt Hill in Lebanon and Newport were reader favorites. The Flying Goose also made the list for the favorite regional restaurant; Common Man was also selected. If you have a pizza cravings reader’s voted for Lui Lui’s. In the warmer months try Sanctuary Dairy in Sunapee for some great ice cream.
Of course for my favorite meal of the day, stop by the Country Kitchen in Newport for breakfast or the Blackwater Junction Restaurant in Andover, which was voted best regional diner. Looking for some freshly baked sweets? Lou’s in Hanover is the place to go. Wash it down with a cup of coffee? Try the Dirt Cowboy Café across the street in Hanover.
Congratulations to all the regional winners and I hope you’ll check out these local favorites. I know I’ve added them to my list.
