There are many foreign lanugage conversation clubs for casual conversation and to practice your skills. They often welcome all levels of speakers from beginners to fluent speakers. My husband and I have been wanting to brush up on our French skills from high school; maybe we can try it sometime.
French Clubs
Howe Library in Hanover has a French Club. Three Wed. a month they meet in the afternoon and two Wed. a month in the evening. Ages 8+ welcome and all ability levels.
Lebanon Library has a French conversation hour on the third Thurs. of the month. Attend and invite a participant to one of the French Film series on the first Wed. of the month. You’ll have plenty to talk about.
The Bradford, VT public library has a French club at 4 pm on select Thursdays.
If the weekend is more your thing, the Enfield Lutheran Church has a French conversation club from 10-11 am. All ability levels welcome.
Italian Club
The Hartland Public Library has an Italian conversation club that meets weekly at 12:30pm.
Enjoy speaking Italian on Saturdays from 10 – 11 am at Mickey’s Roadside Cafe. All speaking levels welcome.
Spanish Club
Speak Spanish in a friendly environment in Hanover at Umpleby’s Cafe on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30 – 10:30 am. The Buena Gente Social Club also hosts activities and events. See their website here. You can also hear group members talking about their experience in the group here.
