One of my favorite memories was playing games with my family. I still love playing them to this day and it’s something I want to do with my children when they get older. I love the laughter, talk around the table, and just the memories were made: my gram always won, knew more words than all of us, my dad always sputtered, and I could never win and was just happy playing the games.
I recently heard a student of mine (middle schooler) say that they still do a family night at home with a movie and pizza.
Stop 1: Black Moon Games
Rent 1 or 3. Read my experience here. I loved being able to rent games. Not sure which one to try that will fit your family? I have suggestions.
Stop 2: Your Favorite Take Out Spot
Sometimes you just want to stay in, or in my case it’s easier than taking two kids out to eat. Here are locals favorite places for Take Out. I love Taj-E-India and I really like Men at Wok. I bet you didn’t know a lot of your favorite restaurants do take out. Try something new.
You could also make your own pizza. I hear Dan and Whit’s does a good job but here are local favorite pizza spots.
Family Game Night Alternatives
Not into board games? That’s okay. Try a movie night or cooking night. Here a list and more ideas here.
Have kids that are younger? Try these 6 activities that are cheap and easy to do. I like the family variety show. We even have the bay window with a bench that could be a stage…hmm.
