Grab a Tasty Treat for Dessert.
Valentine’s day equals delicious sweets. Chocolate, cupcakes, yum and more yum.
There are lots of places to get specialty chocolate. If you want to go to a store and get a selection, the Co-op is a good place to go. You can see recommendations from locals and where to buy local chocolate here.
The top local recommendation is Brigadeiro in Hanover, a truly unique chocolate made from condensed milk, chocolate, and other flavors.
You can even take a day trip to have some speciality chocolates from one of these locations.

Flowers
If you’re looking for where to get flowers, I recommend Valley Flower in White River. She did an amazing job for my wedding and her bouquets are truly stunning and creative. There’s also Roberts Flowers of Hanover and Lebanon Garden of Eden .
Gifts
A Massage from Ciofreddi and Associates is offering a massage special. $65 for 60 minutes. Voted Best Massage Therapist by Valley News Readers.
A Gift from Cloverleaf Jewelry. The Paper Store, hand crafted gift from League of NH Craftsmen, or something special from the Powerhouse mall.
Surprise a Loved One
This is my favorite so far of all the creative ways to celebrate the holiday. I didn’t know they did this anymore. What a great idea! Shhh…register ahead of time and have a barbershop quartet (dressed in tuxes) sing to a love one, give a silk rose, chocolates, personalized card, and email a photo within 30 miles of Hanover at the loved one’s home or work. What about a truly memorable romantic experience? Sleigh ride or dog sled ride?
Dinner and Dessert
People have weighed in on fancy places to eat and great locations for special occasion with a more relaxed atmosphere too. Here are the recommended places to try for a fancy dinner. You can also help with those times of staring at the menu and use this special occasion to venture into something different. Locals recommended these menu items to try.
Simon Pearce’s Valentine’s Dinner. 3 course meal for $60 a person. I’ve always had a wonderful meal here and the atmosphere is perfect for a special date.
I really loved the dinner at Prince and Pauper in Woodstock: romantic, excellent meal, and great service.
Of course I’d pick a place to go out to eat based on the dessert menu alone, especially on Valentine’s day. Here’s the top dessert recommendations.
