Finding the Trails
The Montshire Museum is right off exit 13 and it’s your first right off the exit. There are signs and you can’t miss it, quick turn off the exit. Once you pay the fee you can find the well marked trails easily. This site provides and overview of the trails and mileage.
On the Trails
I had a lot of fun on these trails. It was a beautiful summer day and I did the 1 mile Ridge Trail and then the .4 mile Blood Brook Trail. Both were easy and mostly flat. I loved the view of the Connecticut River on this trail. Unfortunately, in order to walk these trails you need to pay a fee ($16 for adults and $13 for kids 2+). To get the most out of this expensive fee, I’d enjoy the rest the museum has to offer like the outdoor science playground and the exhibits inside because the trails can be done in an hour or two depending on if you stop to read the info and meander on the side paths along the way.
