If you don’t know Devon Blanchard, he’s our Upper Valley teen philanthropist. He organizes events and festivities for the community year after year and has a real heart of gold.
One year a mom wanted to do something special for her daughter on Christmas and Devon helped organize a Whoville style singing and Christmas experience for the girl new to the area and country.
Instead of letting the construction deter him from doing the lights on the Lebanon Mall like he has in the past and just say, eh next year, Devon has installed his thousands of lights at the Kilton Library this year. He even had a food truck at the lighting ceremony this year. The lighting display is synchronized and set to music.
Here’s what it looked like in the past.

One of Many Fun Places to Take Little Ones to See Christmas Lights This Year
I took my kiddos to see it after work and they loved walking through the lighted arches and walkways. Look at that! When is this one going to turn back on?
Looking for other places to take your family to see Christmas lights? Combine a few and try an evening trip, better yet spread it out over different days. Maybe one day is with special pjs and another with a hot chocolate outing after. Claremont and Cornish one day. S. Royalton another. Lebanon and Enfield lastly. Manchester, Londonderry also have multiple displays for other evening / day trip ideas. See here for a full list of ideas.

What Inspired Devon to do this for the community?
Well I’ve had such an interest in decorating for any holiday, but for Christmas it was different. I remember years ago watching that “famous” YouTube video where a guy synchronized his Christmas lights to the Trans Siberian Orchestra. So I wanted to do that one day and started decorating the outside of my house with my parents, up until 2013 when my uncle passed away I knew I had to make the display bigger then ever to honor him. So, a few years past and in 2017 I got ahold of the Lebanon Recreation to decorate an area in the city. That’s when I started doing the Lebanon Mall and for 2 years now I’ve done it.

What You Can Expect at the Lighting Display in 2020
The light show is set to music and runs nightly from dusk to 9:30-10 pm. Tune to 95.1fm and see the lights change to the music, which my son loved. You can also walk around and through the display. The display will be every day unless there’s a snow storm. You can find out updates on DB Lights on Facebook.

Christmas Light Display: Devon’s Plans for the Future
“I’m glad to announce that I will be coming back to the Lebanon pedestrian mall for the 2021 season! We have plans to add a lot more stuff to the display next year and add onto the synchronized display more. In 2021 we will knock your socks off! What I hope from doing this- Well, firstly I hope to spread joy to the community in times of need such as now but I also want to keep my uncles legacy alive.”
Thank you Devon for all you do for the community.
