The picture above is not of Whaleback. It looks like the alps. There is a nice view from the chairlift at Whaleback Mountain, of Mt. Moosilauke and even – farther on the horizon – of Mt. Mansfield, VT. It takes an average skier about 15 – 20 minutes to do a roundtrip from the bottom to the bottom (or top-to-top), here. On a good day that means lots of runs, and a little more time on the chairlift than desired. But, as I said, the view, the view! And liftlines are rarely long. Staff is impressively courteous, here, and the whole place has a good vibe, friendly and competent, all at once.
