Creating a Walking Bucket List
This week I created a walking bucket list. I have a month left before I go back to work (I’m a teacher) and I want to make the most of it. I also have a three month old so my list had to be baby friendly.
I compiled my list with the help of Upper Valley Trails Alliance and Upper Valley Land Trust. I already knew about the Upper Valley trails and had started walking them last year but I felt like I struck gold when I saw the Upper Valley Land Trust, which included many more walks I’m excited to try. So my one page list soon became double sided. What’s nice is that there’s even a website where you can search for trails by activity type like snow shoeing or fishing in the Upper Valley.
When I started this adventure I wasn’t sure what to expect so I wore my hiking boots and brought a back pack. The directions, descriptions, and maps provided by the two organizations were very helpful, but I wished there were pictures and more information about whether the hike was kid friendly.
Here’s where I come in. I’ll be providing pictures of my walking adventures so whether you’re a parent, avid hiker, or just someone wanting to get outside, you’ll know what the walk is like before you go.
Come exploring with me.
You can also sign up for Hanover Conservancy’s monthly e-newsletter! It includes a Hike of the Month with detailed descriptions of what to expect. You can also find them at http://www.hanoverconservancy.org/hanover-hike-of-the-month/ .
