Woodstock

Billings Farm
Step back in time to see one of the finest outdoor history museums in the country. This is a favorite attraction for both visitors and locals alike: tour the 19th century farmhouse, marvel at the farm museum, pet the farm animals, and participate in one of their daily activities. See activity.
Marsh-Billings Rockefeller Historic National Park
Across the street is a National Historic Park.  Tour the mansion and learn about the families who lived there and their vision to help the country.    Walk the carriage trails and find peace in its woodsy solitude.  See activity.
Sugarbush Farm
Sample local flavor and taste deliciousness.  Locals and tourists alike love to frequent this farm, known for its cheese and maple syrup.  Pet the animals, learn about the sugaring process, and take photos of the panoramic pastoral scenery.  The scenic winding drive through the country is well worth it. Quechee

Quechee Gorge
See the deepest gorge in Vermont.  Walk to the bottom for a swim, or meander along the wooded path to the dam. This is a natural wonder and a must see in the area.  See activity.

See beautiful pottery and glassware made firsthand.   Workers are happy to answer your questions as you admire their craftmanship.  In Windsor, see glass and pottery at their headquarters, and in Quechee see glassblowing and stay for an amazing meal at their restaurant featuring their products.  We’re proud of the local products made here in the Upper Valley. Sample delicious at the Cabot store for tasty treats, tour and sample whisky and more at Vermont Spirits. Norwich and Hanover

King Arthur Flour
Known for their amazing baking classes that fill up fast, King Arthur is a baker’s paradise. Watch bakers creating tasty baked goods like cinnamon rolls, stock up on goodies in their store, grab a bite at their cafe, or take a class.
The HOP and Hood
The Hop brings world class performance art and film to the area through Dartmouth College.  Enjoy orchestras, ensembles, plays, independent and major films, dance performances, and even Dartmouth Idol. Meander Main Street in Hanover
Experience the best gelato in the nation by Forbe’s Magazine. Try Brazilian chocolate everyone raves about.  Then browse and buy hand crafted pottery, glass items, accessories, and home decor made by local artisans. Truly amazing work! There are also boutique clothing stores as well. Treat yourself.

Lebanon, Enfield, and Cornish

The AVA Gallery celebrates and fosters the growth of local artists in the area, offering workshops and classes in a variety of mediums for all ages.  Their free gallery rotates exhibits throughout the year.  Come see our local artists shine.   See activity.

  A fascinating trip into history, the Shaker Museum is a must see activity in the area for history buffs, those seeking to learn about a unique lifestyle, or those just looking for an engaging activity. Tour the grounds, learn the history, take a class, or spend the night.  See activity.
Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge
Drive through the longest wooden covered bridge in the US.  Make sure to stop at the pull off on the Cornish side to take a beautiful picture of this amazing bridge. See activity.

Artisan Park
A truly unique, peaceful, and engaging shopping experience.  Artisan Park is a shopping area connecting eight local businesses with tree lined walk ways.  This is not your strip mall shopping, this is better! Walk through a beautiful sculpture garden along the river, see how local beer and spirits are made, sample cheese and jam, and ask local artisans questions as they make glass blown products or work on a pottery piece.  See activity.
Precision Museum
See the largest collection of machine tools in the nation.  Learn about the massive machines that helped pave the way for the modern manufacturing industry at this national historic site.  See activity.
Saint-Gaudens National Park
Even as a local, this activity never gets old and continues to amaze me year after year.  See enormous statues sculpted by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, walks the magnificent boucolic grounds, and see what it was like to live in the late in 1880s by touring the house, stables, workshop and more.  See activity.

Family Fun

Vins
A haven for winged creatures, VINS rehabilitates and cares for injured birds.  Learn about these majestic creatures as you see a live flying demonstration. Montshire
The Montshire is one of the most popular museums in northern New England and received the National Award for Museum Service.  Here you can enjoy over 150 hands-on exhibits on 3 floors and 110 acres.  Walk the nature trails. Let the kids get wet at David Goudy Science park’s water exhibits in the summer. And have fun learning! Pictured is my favorite rotating exhibit the Mindbender Museum: collect clues and solve the puzzle. My son just liked touch the buttons. See activity.
Upper Valley Aquatic Center
